portfolio picture framers

Portfolio Picture Framers was originally named Portfolio Designs and was founded in the 1990’s. Portfolio Designs offered custom picture framing along with an art gallery located upstairs to the original workshop. The current owner, Travis Ottey started working for the previous owner back in 2003 and oversaw block mounting and fitting the picture frames together. He worked his way up the ranks, learning all the skills along the way to become the manager and was in charge of the business while the owner re-located to Melbourne for twelve months. In 2011, Travis and his wife Natasha decided to take the plunge and make an offer to buy the business. On 1st January 2012 their plan become a reality and they were the new owners of Portfolio Designs.

In 2013, the new owners felt the name Portfolio Designs was becoming redundant and didn’t accurately describe what the business provided. So, Portfolio Picture Framers was born and re-brand was completed. In 2015, a new service was introduced to the business that picture framers Myaree, perth had rarely seen before. Natasha had created a range of personalised picture frames for their picture frame shop that allowed their customers to select a name or a word and have this cut into a matboard and then place photos behind each letter. It was a unique way to present pictures in a relatively small space and also made a great gift idea.

In late 2015 an opportunity arose for Travis and Natasha to move their picture frame shop to a new location after being located on Marmion Street, Booragoon for over thirty years. It was a huge decision for the owners but with rising rent costs and an ageing building, it made good business sense to purchase their own premises and move the business to a vibrant, new and easily accessible location at 45 McCoy Street in Myaree. Picture Framers perth rarely purchase their own premises or move their businesses as it’s a huge task and businesses usually have a huge customer base that know their location however the move has paid off for Portfolio Picture Framers and they have received great feedback from their customers about the new location.

Since moving to the new location, Portfolio Picture Framers have gone from strength to strength and offer a huge range of services including custom picture framing of all artwork, tapestries, photos, sports memorabilia, life memorabilia including wedding dresses, war medals, baby shoes, or pretty much anything. As their catch phrase states, you name it, we frame it! They also offer made to order mirrors where you tell them the size you need and pick a frame and they will supply the mirror to your specifications and frame it so its ready to hang. They also complete canvas stretching where they take your oil or acrylic paintings or printed work that’s on canvas and stretch these artworks over a stretcher bar so its ready to hang on the wall and essentially looks frameless. They currently complete many original Aboriginal artworks and re-stretch artworks purchased on overseas holidays including France, Vietnam, Bali and Phuket, just to name a few.

Travis and Natasha pride themselves on their outstanding customer service and will work with customers to get them exactly what they are after and will do everything possible to resolve any situations that arise. So, if you need a picture framer in Perth, look no further than Portfolio Picture Framers.
